License Plate
Stand out, show your alumni spirit, and support our chapter mission!
We now have a design for our new Georgia Specialty License Plate.
Congratulations again to our fellow undergraduate Hornet, Kennadie Stewart, for designing our license plate.
Support a good cause and rep #myASU! Ten dollars of every purchase goes toward scholarships for rising Hornets residing in the State of Georgia.
It’s our goal to see this tag on Georgia’s highways and byways by 2025. Let’s do this HORNET FAM! #SWARMAS1 #myASU

Maintaining our ASU Georgia License Plate
-
We are required to maintain at least 500 tag orders per year. If we fail to maintain the minimum requirement, then the State of Georgia will not produce any more new ASU license plates. Hampton University Atlanta Alumni failed to meet the 500 tag orders per year and the State of Georgia is no longer producing new Hampton University tags. Please renew your ASU Georgia License Plate each year to avoid the State of Georgia ceasing production of our license plates.

Your Receipt
-
Your receipt will serve as your voucher for your one time $25 manufacturing receipt. Please do not forget to take your receipt with you to the County Tag Office when you place your order for your ASU Georgia License Plate. If you fail to bring your receipt, then you risk being double charged the manufacturing fee.

-
How long will it take for a member of our group, institution, or organization to get a plate when they walk into their county tag office?
-
Upon purchase of your plate, a member will be issued a temporary operating permit (TOP) then mailed their license plate within 5-7 business days with a random combination of 3 letters and 3 numbers. The customer will pay the required fees (Section 1 and ad valorem tax if required).

To Have our ASU Georgia License Plates on the road in 2025
-
Collect the $25,000 one time manufacturing fee by February 2025 and submit the check to the State of Georgia.
-
If payment is made after March 2025, then we will have to wait until 2026 for the Georgia Legislation to reconvene in session January 2026.
-
Submission of manufacturing fees for Revenue Sharing specialty license plates must be made to the Department of Revenue before we can request legislation.
January - March 2025: (Only if the $25,000 has been collected) When the State of Georgia Legislative are back into session, our very own ASU alumnae State Senator Tonya Anderson will present a bill to be introduced on our behalf for MAAC. This bill will qualify MAAC for revenue sharing specialty license plate. The revenue from the license plate will be used to provide scholarship funds for ASU undergraduate students from the State of Georgia. This process follows the Constitutional process for all bills: affirmative votes by both chambers of Georgia’s General Assembly and Governor’s signature.
(The Georgia Legislative Body only meets from January through March. This is why we need to collect the entire manufacturing fee by February).
