Membership
2024 Membership Drive
The 2024 year has begun and the ASU Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter (MAAC) is excited about the coming year of activities and events. The MAAC’s ability to impact the growth of the Alumni pipeline and give back to ASU by increasing awareness in Metro Atlanta is accomplished by three pillars:
Engagement | Scholarship | Service.
Engagement: the 2024 membership goal is to have 150 members to include “new graduates” whose first-year membership is free; Regular/Associate dues are $60.00, and Lifetime membership is $1,000.
Scholarship: the goal is to increase the number of current student scholarship awards, add awards for prospective students with a minimum award of $500; and
Service: to identify service events that will increase the visibility of ASU while serving the community.
Meetings
The ASU Metro Atlanta Chapter will be hosting hybrid meetings at The Network ATL and Zoom.
The Metro Atlanta Chapter meets every month on the fourth Sunday at The Network ATL at 3:00 P.M. (In the Month of July and August there are no meetings.)

Types of Membership
Graduate
All graduates of Alabama State University are eligible for membership and may hold office in the chapter.
Non-Graduate
All non-graduates of Alabama State University who were regularly enrolled and left the institution in good standing are eligible for membership in the chapter.
Associate Member
Persons who subscribe to the objectives of this chapter and have an identifiable relationship to Alabama State University may be nominated as associate members by an active member, subject to the approval of the chapter officers. Associate members shall not be eligible to vote or hold office.
Life Member
A life member is any regular member who is in accord with and agrees to adhere to the principles, policies, and objectives of the NAA by paying the life membership fee of $1,000. The membership fee may be paid in three yearly installments: $333.33, $333.33, $333.34. Life membership excludes the member from paying national dues for life. The life membership program was initiated in 1993.
