The Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter’s College Recruiting Team is committed to expanding the pipeline of future Hornets by introducing high school students to the opportunities available at Alabama State University.

Our dedicated alumni volunteers travel throughout the counties surrounding the Metro Atlanta area, visiting high schools, college fairs, and community events to connect directly with students and families. Through these engagements, the team shares valuable information about academic programs, scholarships, campus life, leadership opportunities, and the rich legacy of excellence that defines Alabama State University.

More than recruiters, our team members serve as ambassadors—offering personal insights, answering questions, and helping students envision themselves thriving as Hornets. They provide encouragement, guidance, and real-world perspectives that make the college decision process clearer and more accessible.

The Buzz Baskets program is one of the Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter’s signature service initiatives, designed to welcome incoming freshmen with tangible support and Tiger pride.

Each year, our alumni come together to assemble and provide carefully curated dormitory supply baskets for first-year students. These baskets include essential items such as bedding accessories, toiletries, cleaning supplies, storage solutions, and other everyday necessities students need to successfully transition into campus life.

Scholarship Brunch

The Scholarship Brunch is a signature celebration hosted by the Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter to honor and invest in the next generation of Hornets attending Alabama State University.

This elegant and inspiring event brings together alumni, family, friends, and community supporters for a morning of fellowship, reflection, and recognition. During the brunch, the Chapter proudly presents scholarships to deserving students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to excellence.
